  • HotRod Power Tour

Finally made it to one of the 'Hotrod Power Tour' Finales, and truthfully, I wasn't that impressed by it. They had a fair number of cars there, and 99% of what was there, was nice, and they had a pretty good sampling of of aftermarket performance manufacturers there, but for the most part, this event was geared toward the more money than brains crowd. Personally, I had more fun at a 'Cruise Night' last Summer, that drew over 3,000 vehicles. Now that was impressive, it was a no cost to get in event, and there was plenty to see, and plenty of folks like me to talk to

I was at the kick off of the pwer tour here in orlando and hauled to gainsville and i had a blast. There were at least 4000+ cars there. Or mabe it just me because my sis works for primedia in tampa for vette and mopar muscle and i got the vip pass. It could also be at the end of the tour everyone was tired and had been on the road for some time already. On the hotrod.com power tour fourm everyone says that had a blast. Sorry you didnt have a good time but this is the first i have heard of some not having a good time.

But here is a link to the kick off in orlando and some pics at superchips in sanford and gainsville.

Actually, I have heard from a couple of others who had gone on past tours, and their experiences were much liike mine, in that they weren't 'high rollers', so they were pretty much treated like dirt. I will give you your summation though about the people possibly being wrung out, but have to add that I've been at numerous shows over the past 30 years, and it seems that at the ones where you have a larger group of people who aren't in the 'high roller' category, is where you'll find a much friendier atmosphere toward those of us who also aren't in the 'high roller' group. I doubt I'd ever go to another 'Power Tour', after my experience at this one.

Spoke to a local Cop since my first post, and he also said the tour was a lot more fun if you were able to do the whole thing. Oh well, not on my so-called budget. I'm on the $5.00 'Budget Build-Up' budget, not the $5,000.00 one
