I have a shelf dedicated to the rotary and backing plates, and keep the pads color coded in drawers

Upside down in the Meg's duffle. I worry about the pad flat-spotting where it sits since I don't use it a lot. Probably wouldn't happen anyway, but it still bugs me.

In the bag it came with and then in the cabinet. I used to like it when tools like these came in metal or heavy plastic container dedicated to the tool for protection and portability.

Agreed, I was looking at it from a storage perspective. You could put your case and tool in there and take it with you, or you can put the tool in all by itself, your choice.

Most power tools don't stack well and thus they end up taking up a lot of horizontal space. They can also be dangerous if you have kids. This is a safe convenient way to keep them out of site, away from kids etc. You can even lock them up if you want.

It's a suggestion passed down from my older brother to myself. I find it works well for me.

Not exactly portable for people that use their tools at friends and relatives' homes as much as their own but it does make sense for some people.

I've got this metal case for my 7424. Bonus that it came in PC gray.

I store all my stuff in their OEM boxes when I don't use them. And I do my best to keep the boxes in excellent, 100% brand new condition. That way, when I sell the item, I get better prices for it.

I sold my old PC7424 for $100, just because the box was in brand new condition.

    Hmmm, voted but never posted.....

This is how I store my G100 and my Rotary:

It has a top portion and 2 drawers, I keep the accessories in the drawers and machines in the top.

I love the cart idea, but I have a gravel driveway hindering anything rolling except when it's frozen and I step out of the Yukon and end up underneath the car next to me
