Why did you use 5" instead of 5.5"? What are the differences? I am running 5.5" on my PC 7424 right now and am curious about the compatibility. I think I have a 5" backing plate...

I cannot remember who I purchased them from, they were a good deal at the time and the 1/2" didn't really matter.

Do you ever run into issues with running the backing plate edge against the surface your polishing?

My eyes are always on the edge of the bp like white on rice! So no, I never had a problem, just took my time.

Not all have been used really. And the ones that have been used have maybe been thru 2 corrections.

I'm curious where you found the odd size, I've searched all over the big detail supply sites and google and have only found 4", 5.5" and 6.5" LCC CCS pads.
