    WTB Rotary backing plate in so cal TODAY

    hey guys so i picked up my makita last night for 100 bucks. used for few hours. i guess the guy polishes glass and said it was too heavy for him to hold up for long periods of time above his head.
    well the buffer came with everything minus pads n backing plate. all i have is a 3" backing plate that i use on my g110 with the rotary adapter. was wondering if anyone had an extra backing plate that theyre willing to part with... im in west covina right now at work but live in rancho cucamonga. so if anyone near those areas has one to sell id appreciate it. itching to try and buff something tomorrow on my day off haha.

    im preferrably looking for the meguiars w66 plate, but anything will do.

    I'm down in El Cajon, but if you can't find anything else, I have a few SOLO backing plates. It's yours for free if you don't mind the drive. See my email address in my signature to contact me.

      thats what im talking about. looking to buy plates and get offered free ones! as much as id love to take you up on that offer, that would just be way too much on gas for me. i took the drive to escondido last night to pick up my buffer. 160 miles round trip haha. im gonna send you a pm and maybe we can work something out. thanks

              thanks for the offer... but i already worked out a deal with Mark KLeis. but i am looking for a tool to remove my backing plates off the makita. mine didnt come with one. but if you have some stuff you dont need. id be willing to work out something with you. thank you in advance

                Tool? Isn't that big button on the head a spindle lock?

                I think the removal procedure is push button, grab plate and twist. (That's the procedure for the Dewalt, Porter-Cable/Flex, Milwaukee, etc.)

                  hahah ok. i bought the buffer put my 3 inch plate on and then went to town on the door of an old land cruiser that i have. i will try it. the buffer is at my parents house with all my other stuff.. now i feel dumb... sorry im a newb to rotary polishers... thanks pc
