    NXT Topping results

Ok, I just finished the car.

    Washed it.

Clay barred the nose. Now this was interesting. Other than the nose (bugs, road grime) the claybar glided like wet ice over the rest of the car. After calling someone else with more claybar experience than myself, I came to the conclusion that the previous NXT application protected so well, that nothing was able to really stick to the paint. So the clay bar was confined to the front bumper, front section of the hood and roof, and the mirrors.

Next came the NXT. It goes on smoothly, and it comes off a LOT easier than Carnuba wax. Once I had the whole car done with NXT, I did half of the hood with Deep Crystal wax. After I was done, I have to say that the NXT alone did look a LOT better. I dunno, the DC seemed to leave tiny little criss-cross hair lines, whereas the NXT didn't.

What did make a difference was a 2nd coat of NXT. I applied the second coat to what I call the "high exposure" areas - hood, roof, trunk lid, mirrors, and front bumper.

Seriously, it goes on and comes off so easily, I don't see any reason (for my uses) to use anything else.

    I've found my new wax

      Results

As not to kill this page for dial-up users, I'll just provide a link to the pics.

I didn't realize how dramatic the results were at first... because I had my polarized sunglasses on. In case you don't know, those glasses remove almost all reflection and glare. Once I took them off, I was even more amazed at the results.

      Very happy customer.

          #26 on top of NXT

Well, after reading this post a week ago I decided to try it. But I was more intersted in did NXT attract more dust then #26.

I just got a brand new silver car and the first thing I did was clay detail it, apply #7 then #26 with the PC. This was a few weeks ago. Then a week later I applied a coat of NXT. The thing seemed to get dusty fast and I was convinced that NXT must attract dust more then the #26.

So, I waxed the car using NXT then on the hood and roof I applied #26 on one side.

I asked my wife to come out and see if she saw any differences in the finish. Her commnet was the side with the #26 looked better and had a wet look to it.

Me, I can't say it looked any beter or worse but it looked darker.

After about 4 days here in SCAL where it can be pretty dusty I saw no difference between the two sides. I couldn't see any difference on anf of the 4 days.

So, I have to conclude that this color and the way I see the hood from the drivers compartment must just be the rght angle to see the dust.

If I could get a good picture of the silver car I would post one but I can't seem to find the right way to get a good photo of a silver car.

          Steve
