NXT Tech Wax/pad question

I just purchased some NXT Tech Wax for roughly $13 @ Wal-Mart

My question is, what is the most effective way to use it? I don't have a PC yet but really want to get one. With the PC, would I just apply the wax to either a polishing or finishing pad?

What is the difference between a polishing and a finishing pad?

I have the little pad that comes in the box. I'm starting to move up though, from arm-labor to machine-labor.

Hi Flarisidelariat,

By hand, just apply the NXT with the foam applicator pad it came with. First wash and clay the car however.


The difference between a W-8006 polishing pad and a W-9006 finishing pad is the finishing pad is much, mush softer and more gentle to the finish. The polising pad is still gentle to the finish but offers a little more bite when using for cleaning paint and removing defects like swirls and scratches.

Ok, help me out here. I'm looking to buy #80 Speed Glaze, Clay Bar, a few polishing and finishing pads, along with a PC and back-up plate, and I (already have) the Tech Wax and NXT Car wash.

What would be the steps I'd take with the above mentioned supplies? For which type of pads would I use for the different supplies? Like what would you use on the polishing pad, and what would you use on the finishing pad?

Hey,

I would suggest using the W-8006 Polishing Pad when applying the #80 Speed Glaze with a PC. I have achieved the best results using this method.

As for the NXT Tech Wax, I have used from day one (Lab Sample E), the W-9006 Finishing Pad with the PC. I have tried the W-8006 with it, but still prefer the W-9006.

I used the pad that came with the NXT and did the buffing by hand as well -- came out great. Meguiars also has the pads in a 3 pack that work very well also.

Yep the snow is gone! As a matter of fact, we are now in a warming trend! As such, the trees have accelerated their leaf production a month too early! I just hope we do not go through another dry summer (read: Forest Fires!) like last year; I got really tired of listening to the radio to get the evacuation orders!

Nope the rack takes four large guys to remove. You have to remove it around the canopy. I also have an electric boat loader on the rack as well, so it is VERY heavy! In other words, the canopy and rack stay on the truck!

We just had a 5 year drought broken last year, but after 12 months of abundant rainfall, we are about 7" behind again since Jan.

The air stayed awful dirty before the rains came...I hope we both have a drought free year!
