  • NXT and Painted Alum Wheels

I have never waxed my wheels before, but I have been reading about the benefits of waxing painted wheels, and now that I have these darker wheels on my Xterra, I thought I might try it.

I assume the application is the same for wheels as it is for the rest of the vehicle, but I was wondering, since I drove it once after I waxed yesterday (but not the wheels), can I QD the wheels and then apply a coat of NXT? or do I have to wash the wheels again (they don't look dirty or have hardly any brake dust on them right now)?

    Thanks!

I use NXT Wax on my wheels works well and really brings the metallic out in the paint and I applied it in the same way as you would to your truck.

Not overly satisfied with the spray wax and how it applies to a car... I have recently started using the spray wax on the wheels and it works very well for them and its quick and easy!

If it was me I would carefuly wash them again just to make sure nothing was stuck to the wheels. Just what I would do.

In most cases it is always a good idea to wash the wheels before applying wax. You just never know if any fine particles of sand or other dirt may have attached to the surface.

      Just my thoughts...

I waxed my painted rims with NXT today. They are so silver you need sunglasses.

That last pic convinced me! I'm going out in the garage very soon to clay and put some NXT on my painted wheels. I have never seen any other wax or sealant do such a great job on silver.

Did you do any prep on those wheels before the NXT?
