Is Ultimate polish a new product? I have been reading though a lot of the writeups on what products to use and its not mentioned on any of the posts. I have a 2012 MINI with what seems to be a decent amount of swirls. The paint is in great condition other than that. Is UP the product I should use with a Yellow pad on a DA polisher? Or do I need to mix in some other steps that are more agressive first?

The car is a white car and in the sun you can see the swirls. With headlights shining on the rear you can see them as well.

Must be a year or two old now.

It has some defect removal ability, so if your paint seems soft, it would be a good option for a test spot first.

True, but chances are you'll need something stronger, like UC.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

If not that, maybe SwirlX. Slots nicely in between Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish.

Or ScratchX (between SwirlX & UC).

              Re: Ultimate polish

I was polishing my black 2012 Acura with UP with polishing pads and noticed some black got on the pad. Not much... just slightly towards the edge of the pad. I have washed the pad since so unfortunately, I cannot provide any pictures.

Did about 4 passes with moderate pressure at speed 5. The car was clayed and wiped down prior polishing. It is quite possible that I did not do a thorough job of washing the car and it is also possible that the black got on the pad from the plastic and rubber pieces. I am happy with the results I got but somewhat concerned about pad turning black if it is actually some paint.

Is this a reason to be concerned?

If just on the edges, the rubber/plastic trim is most likely.
