  • Ultimate Polish and Car Show Polish #7

    Hi guys,

New guy here! I have a black Lexus is250 and just treated the surface with Ultimate Compound. I then followed it with Ultimate Polish. It looks awesome now. Would treating it further with Car Show Polish #7 even be worthwhile? Or am I just wasting my time?

    Thanks,
    NJ

Hard to say on black... that is where you would have the best chance on noticing anything.

Might as well try a small area... My opinion though is forget it.

I agree with Nick. Do a test spot and see if you see a difference or not.

If it were me, I wouldn't even bother. UP is very rich in polishing oils so it's going to nourish the paint very well.

Agreed - I doubt you would notice a difference.

          You can always try though!

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Just curious are you working by hand?

Like the others have said not sure you see much difference. It will depend a little on how successful you were with Ultimate Compound. I have a black Lexus too and UP looks great. Although I've had limited experience with #7.

Re: Ultimate Polish and Car Show Polish #7

#7 is a pure polish, no abrasives unlike ultimate polish. The advantage of Ultimate Polish is that the abrasives in it will refine further the initial correction done by UC while adding polishing oils for even more depth and shine. If you have UP, you may not need #7 anymore, since you seem to be happy with ultimate polish. Think of UP as SwirlX mixed with a bit of #7... #7 can be a bit tempermental but it does give great shine and can be applied repeatedly without risk of build up, repeated applications like on car shows where no protection is needed for paint, just brilliant dripping wet look.
