  • how does ultimate quick detailer work?

I understand that you can use it to clean your car in between washes when there is some dust on the car. Where do you draw the line if your car is too dirty to use UQD? Are there other purposes for it besides using it in between washes and lubricant for claying? Right now I would not spray something on my car and wipe it when my car is dirty but maybe because I have not tried UQD. thanks

Quick detailers are used for light dust removal. Anything more than that requires either waterless car wash (Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere) or traditional/ rinseless car wash.
If vehicle has more than just light dust a car duster could be used first before application of a quick detailer.

Ultimate Quik Detailer cannot be used as a clay lubricant. The products good for that are: Quik Detailer, M34 Final Inspection and D155 Last Touch Spray Detailer (diluted with water 1:1).

Ultimate Quik Detailer has hydrophobic polymers which provide water beading. It's also available in bulk size as M135 Synthetic Spray Detailer.

If the car is parked outside all day the level of fallout accumulated during that time period can usually be safely removed with nothing more than a quick detail spray and a few microfiber towels. If fallout is light, you might be able to go a couple of days. If you know that your paint is extremely touch sensitive (some are much more so than others) then you might not want to go more than a single day's worth of fallout accumulation. When done properly, however, you can safely perform this task on a daily basis without creating swirls.

I too was wondering how exactly does QD work? Does it place a tint on your paint? I noticed that after applying it my hood became dark. Also, what happens when it rains right after applying qd. I had watermarks on the qd layer.

After washing my car using GC, I noticed my hood looked fine from a distance but when you got to around 1m of it you can see a dark layer of something(uqd?) with watermarks on it. This wasn't dirt as I rubbed my fingers on it and no dirt was captured. I then started spraying uqd and buffing it down and it was clean. However, after about 30 mins, I seen this dark tint form again. I feel like my black car isn't shining as it's supposed to when applying uqd.

Btw, I had only gotten to use uqd twice on the whole car before it ran out. That doesn't sound right, does it? Bottle shows 650ml. Am I spraying down too much?

Yes, you are using way to much. On my F250 I only use 2 sprays per panel and 4 on the hood. Use a nice sweeping motion with your hand as you spray. Massage it into the paint with no pressure.

Ok that would explain why I'm out so fast! I used like 10 sprays/panel!!!

So does qd leave a slight tint on the paint or was that tint formed due to my qd abuse?

Yeah, there are some oils left behind on the surface.

If you feel you need that much lubrication, one of the spray and wash products would probably be better.

Re: how does ultimate quick detailer work?

None of our mist and wipe quick detail sprays will leave a tint on the paint, even if you seriously over use them (like jeeva86 did). Some of them can, in vary degrees, darken the paint a bit, especially when used on dark colors (no, it will NOT make a silver car look charcoal gray!).

The term "mist and wipe" not only describes this group of products, but the way they should be used, too. If you only managed to wipe down your car twice with a single bottle of any QD spray you are really over doing it. That's even a lot more product than we recommend using with our new Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere product, and you can clean a seriously dirty car with that product! Which leads us to ask - jeeva86, just how dirty was your car when you used 10 sprays per panel????

It was mint. I had it fully detailed with claybar + polish so I wanted maintain the wax and read abt using uqd. I just felt that the spray wasn't outputting too much so I thought I should use more so that was a fail :/.

I have a black(NBP) car. Pics below show how the hood looked after a 2 bucket wash with GC. I'm surprised this layer didn't come off after my wash. I wanna start fresh what should do? Scrub hard when cleaning? The pics that show the contrast was clean by scrubbing with uqd. I think I failed big time .

First off, you never want to scrub when cleaning - that is almost a guaranteed way to inflict swirls, or worse.

We don't see any pix in your last post so we can't comment on any layer that you feel should have come off when washing. If you've created some new swirls, however, then you basically need to start over with the paint cleaner (Ultimate Compound), polish (either UP or M205) and wax.

Right after applying the qd I began driving and I may have missed some spots so I have a lash of qd sprinkled on my side body that must've been shot from my tires. It looks horrible ((. It's the white hard residue. I've read online that I should qd it again but I wanna make sure. It's been at least a week of it being there dried up.

It certainly does look like you've quite a film built up there. A fairly quick once over with a cleaner wax should take care of that - ColorX, Cleaner Wax (burgundy bottle) or similar should make short work of this. Just washing alone wouldn't necessarily remove it since a proper car wash should be gentle enough to not remove polymers. And like we mentioned before, "scrubbing" should be avoided at all costs.

Thanks, I'll look into those. Regarding dried up uqd, I've read that I can just uqd it again and it should come out. Is this correct or should I do something else? Because the uqd dripped onto my tires, it splashed all over my lower portion of the side so there's plenty of white solid marks on there .

Wow. We know you used a lot of the product, but enough to have it run off the paint and coat the tires so heavily that it wouldn't dry and then had such a high volume of sling? If you took the sprayer off the bottle and literally poured the contents of the bottle onto a tire and wheel even that would dry in fairly short order. Any chance you applied your tire dressing a bit too heavy and that's what's been slinging?
