  • New use for Ultimate Compound.

Just a simple wash and cleaner-wax job on my old Impala daily driver today. I was looking at my flat black painted steel wheels and I had an idea. I really wish I had thought of taking a before picture, if any of you have seen black steel wheels and how oxidized they get can imagine, but I have after pictures.

Real simple, Ultimate Compound by hand using a yellow Meguiar's applicator pad. Then a coat of Meguiars Cleaner Wax (Liquid) by hand with yellow Meguiar's applicator pad.

    That looks good!
What did you put on your tires? They have a nice shine.

Meguiar's Endurance Gel. I bought it over two years ago. One thing I like to do is instead of washing the applicator, I leave the applicator wet with the gel and store it in a sandwich bag. When I use it again I wipe the tire down with the applicator without putting product on it and it does about half the tire, then I "recharge" it with a drop or two per tire. The tires also affect the shine, these tires are pretty new. (Last November) The previous tires I had would only blacken when treated and refused to shine. Then again, the old tires where gray after I cleaned them and these are black after cleaning.
