So I plan on using UC to remove some light swirls from my wife's DD, but I am a little confused. After an application of UC is is necessary to follow with a pure polish or should I move to a wax? Interestingly, the product advisor skips the polish step, and simply recommends UC (Step 2) and Ultimate Wax (Step 4). Thanks for your advice.

On many cars, the UC will leave a good finish, and you can just wax after.
On occasion, there could be some minor swirls left, and so a milder cleaner like SwirlX or Ult Compound can help remove those.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue -

UC itself especially when done right can leave an already nice finish ready for wax. Yes there may be times when a paint may be a bit on the soft side and require a finer cleaner like ult.polish or swirl x to leave the paint even smoother and shinier, and depending on the color of the paint use a pure polish for an even deeper shine (like dc polish or M07) than wax/sealantComment
