Re: What product should I use to get rid of swirl marks on a newish car with a perma
If i work for a lexus dealer, i'd say "OUCH"! Hehehe.. But since it is reapplied by the dealership at certain intervals, i guess one can say it isn't really a magical paint protection system. I'm not saying its not good, but the reality is there's so much airborne and atmospheric and chemical (natural or otherwise) that can severely affect a wax or sealant's longevity.. Even wiping down your car with a very dirty rag or poor technique can reduce or even remove wax protection.
What bugs me a bit is why some colors/paints have no clearcoats? It seems that in this era, primer-basecaoat-clearcoat is the right way to go.. Just wondering.. It seems like a step backwards..
Having also experienced swirlmarks on cars due to bad washing/wiping technique, i now find it hard to entrust paint maintenance to other people.. Pro-detailers aside, i feel the only one who can really keep one's car shiny is the owner..
