When applying NXT Tech Wax 2.0, how long do you keep wiping on the wax in one section?

I use the paste and I do a thin layer. I noticed on well used applicator in the can and if I applying and if I see some coming off. I will go over the thinnest spots again.

I let it sit for a while, I found it came off with ease. People recommend the swipe test. In a cool garage I let it sit on my mother in laws car for 1-2 hrs. With a fresh Terry cloth folded. I push and it comes off amazingly.

Once its knocked off, then re fold and buff to a perfect shine.

When applying any wax you just want to make sure you're getting good, uniform coverage. Working in a circular motion you basically go over every square inch 3 or 4 times using only light to moderate pressure. If you look at the panel you're working on, the hood for example, think about the width of your circular strokes and try to make overlapping rows of strokes, working methodically across the panel. You should end up with a very thin and uniform coat when finished.

This image shows a properly applied coat of wax - very thin and uniform. This was machine applied, but you would follow the same sort of pattern when hand applying.

This application was done by hand. It's a bit random, but not terrible. What is bad about this is that the wax is applied much, much too thick. In fact, when we saw the owner of the car doing this we stopped him in his tracks. We took the applicator away from him and gave it to his girlfriend. We then told her to wax the complete other side of the car without adding any more wax to the pad. When she was done - and she did a beautiful job! - there was still enough wax in the pad to do half of another car!

You do want to apply the wax to all the painted surfaces of the car and then let it dry for at least 20 minutes, longer if temperature is low or humidity is high - and even longer if both conditions are present. It will wipe off easier when fully dry than it will if the wax hasn't set up completely.
