We have a super Walmart in our area that has a fair selection of Meguiars products, enough that it is worthwhile to check out what they have every time I go there.
I went there yesterday with my daughter. No liquids I needed, though I picked up a California duster with a purple handle hee hee and a wheel brake dust brush, but I also decided to look at which brand's products had the biggest shelf space there.
Maybe you can guess... Turtle Wax and Armour All. And it wasn't just Turtle Wax waxes and Armour All protectant, I mean they had the whole gamut of products. They had their own car wash shampoos, glass cleaners, compounds, waxes, metal polishes, interior cleaning products, you name it, they had it.
And I think to myself, okay, I had heard of Turtle Wax by maybe 45 years ago, and I had heard of Armour All by maybe 35 years ago, and I don't remember having seen any marketing for those products since then (of course that may depend on what I read and watch but still...)
They undoubtedly don't have the best products, just a recognizable name.
So I have hopes for Meguiars running national ads and becoming a recognizable name. If you only advertise on a show called "Car Crazy" which not even I have watched (because in truth, I am not a car crazy person, just someone who wants to drive a car that looks nice) you will be recognizable to some, but why not let other people at least know that you exist, and maybe even that you might be a better choice than Turtle Wax and Armour All.
