  • Remove the shine?

Without thinking, I applied Ultimate Protectant to the black plastic overhang above my instrument panel while wiping down the interior. Now, at night, there is a terrible glare from the lit up instrument panel. What is the best way to remove this glare?

Use a mild all purpose cleaner of some kind and simply rub it into the surface using a towel for a few minutes. After this, all of the dressing you applied should be gone.

Something like Quik Interior Detailer? or is there a cheaper, yet just as effective, option?

You can use any type of All Purpose Cleaner sold at a CVS, Wal-Mart, etc. Just make sure to dilute it if it you think it will be too strong. Mainly, just use your common sense. For example, do not use bathroom cleaner on the surface as that is simply not what the cleaner was made for. You could use even a little bit of 409, just spray a little on a towel and rub it into the affected area for a minute or so. Let it sit for a few seconds if you want and then wipe it off. Follow this process and you should be left with a surface free from any Ultimate Protectant you applied.

Awesome. Thanks for the advice, Cooper. That was exactly what I needed to hear.

Try Quik Interior Detailer first with a clean microfiber towel.
