  • Discontinued CONSUMER products

I recently got a 2010 Meguiars Consumer Line brochure booklet. I noticed some products are no longer shown. For example, NXT Generation Car Wash and NXT Tech Protect. Does this mean they are being discontinued?

I had a bad feeling the other day when I went to Pepboys to get my NXT Car Wash and it wasnt there.

NXT is a great soap line. I still have like 97% of a bottle left but would like to find more but haven't seen it in stores around here for a good 6 months.

NXT Generation Car Wash is strong enough to remove a lot of dirt and grime, yet gentle enough to use on paint where the idea is to preserve wax or sealant protection.

Has really great cleaning power, been able to use it on tires without using APC or SD.

Its a great car wash, If I had to have have only soap from Meguiars it would be NXT.

I found a couple of 64 oz Nxt Car Wash placed at the sale counter (Pepboys) at $4.00. I have a feeling Pepboys will no longer carry the product line.

I've always felt nxt was too strong for a maintenance car wash anyways. Every time I wash with NXT my paints slickness is always killed or drastically reduced. I am not the only one who has noticed this either....

I asked someone at the Meguiar's booth at the Good Guys Car Show on Saturday about this actually, and was told they weren't going anywhere. I noticed this back in January or so when I got the new catalog.

How much soap/water do you use for your wash solution?

I use it at 1oz:1gal so its not really user error. Its just what I've noticed. People have always said that NXT wash was a strong cleaner. Even though car soaps/shampoos dont use detergents they do use surfactants and I guess its the added surfactants that make NXT a better cleaner is what is causing my lost of surface slickness.

I wouldn't be surprised if the NXT Protectant was discontinued along with the NXT detailer and spray wax as they all seem inferior to UQD, UQW and UP (with the name Ultimate, who's surprised?).

As of now, they are not officially discontinued, but it will hard to find them at large retail outlets.

Your best bet to find them would be an on-line retailer or Meguiar's Direct

WalMart are starting to put Gold Class Shampoo. Some are selling it for $6.47, and I got one for $1.76.

PepBoys put DC 3 for $4.00, NXT Shampoo for $4.00.
