I also picked up a couple bottles at Autozone for $.99, but I haven't tried it out yet. I think I remember someone saying on another forum that this wax can be hard to wipe off.

Well, I tried it one more time on the trunk lid of my 2004 Hyundai Elantra. Clayed it first, then applied a thin coat of BM Wet Shine. I left the house for three hours, then came back home to wipe (and buff). It still smears.

Trusting consumer reports for wax is about as accurate as using the National Enquirer for news.

Consumer Reports does a lot of product tests very thoroughly, but their wax test wasn't. They compare a cleaner wax with other regular waxes, that alone really shows they don't know how to properly do a comparison test.

I also had a similar experience. Hard to buff off. looks good and lasts for a while.

You didn't allow it to completely dry. I used this wax years ago and never had a problem with it on my black car. I was in hot and humid Florida at the time. Allow it to dry completely and you shouldn't have a problem.

NXT2.0 shouldn't cause streaking, either. Again, you're not allowing it to dry long enough.

Yes, I did the "swipe" test before removing it. It still smears, badly. Also, if NXT smears a bit, I use a quick detailer to remove the excess, and it would turn-out perfect. Not with this wax.

Are you sure the wax was completley dried. NXT will do the same if you do not let it dry all the way. Remember to do the swipe test

    Black Magic Wet Shine

Have any used this wax? Consumer Reports rated this as #1 on liquid car wax (higher than GC and NXT). I used it yesterday on my old car (paint is always good), and it was CLAYED first. I waited 30 minutes for it to dry. When, I started removing the wax, it started smearing (oily). I used a quick detailer to help me remove the wax evenly, but was it did not help. I have no idea why this wax is rated number #1. Anyhow, I bought this wax for only $0.01. I guess no harm done. LOL.
