  • Hot Shine tire products - all the same?

So I was at Wal-Mart today and I saw a 4 Meg Hot Shine Products: Hot Shine Tire Foam, Gel, Spray, and Coating.

Don't they all do the same thing - make the tires shine?
Are there any differences between the four?
Are there any pros or cons on using one product over the other?

Good question. I have all four and use all four of them for my details.

Hot Shine Tire Foam cleans and protects the tires in one easy step, this is the only Hot Shine product that has a little cleaning ability. It leaves a slightly glossy appearance as well as a natural black matte look depending on the tire and how it accepts the dressing. IMO it has the least amount of gloss of the four.

The Hot Shine aerosol coating leaves behind the highest gloss look IMO, the trigger and gel becoming a close second and third.

I use the gel If I have time and if its easy to use on the tire, if there are a lot of grooves and such and are a pain to dress then I use the trigger or aerosol coating.

Here are some photos to give a better picture of what each product look like on tires:

Hot Shine Aerosol Coating and Hot Shine Trigger Spray:

    Hot Shine Tire Gel:

In the end, you cannot go wrong , all four work great and are excellent dressings.

    I hope this helps!

So for all these, you just spray/apply it and leave it alone? No rinsing/wiping off/scrubbing? Other then the gel, I know that one requires some scrubbing.

But the foam, spray, and aerosol - just let it dry up on the tire?

When using the aerosol coating I just spray and walk away. When using the tire foam I tend to wipe down the tire afterwards to remove the excess foam.

When using the gel or trigger I usually apply with a foam applicator or a tire swipe. I dont wipe my tires down after application since I like the higher gloss look, but you can certainly do that if you want a lower gloss look.

I used the Insane Shine trigger, and wiping down after doesnt seem to cut the shine very much. Though I do more of a blot than a wipe.
