The Ultimate Protectant has held up very well in most cases though that does seem to be dependant on the type of plastic and what was on the plastic prior to its application.

In most cases, UP did a fantastic job, with a non-greasy (though it can be a little slippery when it rains so avoid using it on bumper inserts and pick-up truck bed liners etc), and a moderate sheen look. It does not seem to attract dust as quickly as other dressings do, but still attracts some; it is still a dressing, but with that in mind, it does an excellent job!

The only issues I had with my pre-production samples is on certain plastics (and with cold temperatures), unless it was cleaned really well of previously applied dressings. In that case, the UP would streak after a light rain shower. Therefore, if the plastic was dressed previously with another dressing, I would make sure to clean it thoroughly so that you can get the maximum durability out of the product. I would also not apply it in cold temperatures as I found that it does not spread well and again, has issues bonding. It may have to do with the pores and temperature expansion, but I am not a chemist so I can only comment on what I found. But in most cases, it worked very very well!

What I liked most about the product was its look. It has the right amount of sheen in that it makes the plastic look clean and new, and not artificially dressed.

Hey,

Because the Ulimate Protecant is supposed to have extreme durability over time, an update at 1 month may be a little premature.

However, for a quick update, on the interior as you have asked about, it is lasting very well. Because it dries unlike other dressings, it does not seem to attract as much dust as other dressings. As such, the interior of the test vehicles look fantastic.

I will continue to provide updates over time...

I wonder how this product is going to perform on the interior of the Nissan 350z as the 350z door panels are made of some awkward material... Hopefully I can experiment with this if no one has already done so on a 350z. Perhaps the interior quality has been improved for later years as opposed to older models where there were concerns of the poor material.

According to Rasky's test of UP on a 350Z it worked quite well. He made a similar comment on the visual quality of the 350Z's interior panels.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen any negative effects on exterior trim when using ASD (all season dressing.) I personally have seen two negative effects both on ford pick up trucks, trim on top of the bed & tailgate & whell well trim on same truck but different version. I've noticed after using this dressing on customers vehicles several times that as i come back every couple weeks the trim keeps looking worse, from worn out black to now a horrible gray. I havent totally decided it is my fault by using the same stuff i use on tires as the trim & I feel responsible, almost like i might need to get them new trim since they relay on me to keep thier cars looking tip top & I made it worse. I hope it's not my fault, what do you think?

The one thing I can surmise in your case however is that the Lab Sample P does not seem to run down the sides of a vehicle which is a big plus as most dressings do tend to run...

Hi Frank,

OK, here is what I have done. I am testing the Lab Sample P on one side of a plastic window cowl and Hyper Dressing at 3:1 on the other side. At that ratio, the HD is extremely close in look/sheen to the Lab Sample P with a very tiny edge in gloss to the Lab Sample... Again, I used separate foam applicators for application so that the results are not skewed in way or the other...

I will keep monitoring the cowl as I figure that this would be a great test considering that the cowl will be exposed to the harsh elements in every day driving...
