What about durability? It seems like a really good product, just wondering how long it lasts...

What a dramatic difference. Great review and use of pics. I would be interested in the products durability.

Tuck91's "Lab Sample P" Product Review

    Hey everyone,

I am sure you are all excited for what 2010 has in store. I know I am for sure. I was even more excited when I was asked to test a product for Meguiars, "Lab Sample P".

"Lab Sample P" is an exterior and interior vinyl, rubber, and plastic trim protectant. It smells like a mix of Natural Shine and Gold Class Trim Detailer with a slight coconut smell to it. It has a very creamy consistency and is not very thick, but not very thin either, Somewhat similar in consistency with Gold Class Trim Detailer. It also is a white cream in color.

Application: Very easy to apply, went on smoothly and was very easy to spread out to achieve uniform coverage. I used a foam applicator pad to apply the product. It should also be noted that I accidently got some on the paint and it was extremly easy to remove and I did not have to "fight it" off.

Appearance: Based on the surfaces I tested it on I thought it did not leave a high gloss finish but more of a "like new" or matte appearance.

Feel: After I applied the product I felt the surface and it dried instantly, no greasy feel, no residue, I was impressed since I felt it immediatly after application. The surface felt very smooth and felt like a new trim piece rather than a dressed one. I would say this is what impressed me most.

Cleaning Ability: The product seemed to clean the surface and leave a "like new" look and feel. Turned exterior trim from grey to black and worked well on faded/dull trim

Test Subject #1 - 2008 Dodge Power Wagon:

I tested out the product on the exterior and interior of this truck first. I taped off certain sections of the trim. Below are some before/afters and 50/50s. I also should note that the trim on this truck is not in that bad of shape but could definitly use some attention.

    Before:

    After:

    Test Subject #2 - 1997 Ford Ranger:

The trim on this truck was actually in good shape and not very faded or dull, but I like the trim on this truck so I thought it was worth trying. I also applied it to the weatherstripping.

    Door handle:

Test Subject #3 -2005 Ford F-350 Harley Davidson Edition

The trim on this truck was in decent shape, I have not detailed it since May so the trim lost a bit of its look. here is a picture of the bumper, figured I would get up close this time.

Although the Power Wadon did show a dramatic difference on the interior and exterior trim I figured I would try and fins something really faded and dull.

Heres just one application of Lab Sample P on my tractor:

Overall thoughts: I really like Lab Sample P a lot! It works so well on exterior and interior trim. It does not have a greasy feel, dries to the touch, very easy to apply and spread around, and it gives a look I have never seen before. The best way I can describe it is a "like new" look and feel. And no greasy feel at all! I would also like to note that I may update this thread with more tests as I would like to test it on several more vechiles I will be able to detail soon.

Thanks Meguiars for the test sample and I hope you liked how I did the review.
