  • DC2 over ColorX?

Just have a wild thought and I am just wondering if can I do the following:
I know that ColorX clean, polishes and wax and by putting DC2 after ColorX sound meaningless...
But will there be any issues by doing it?

    1. Wash
    2. Clay
    3. ColorX
    4. DC2
    5. Wax 2x.

    Can you? Yes, of course.

Is it pointless? In just my opinion, yeah, probably.

I don't think there will be any bonding issues with the DC2 polish, not like you put it on and it slides off in a heap. You may not need it. I can't remember if anyone used a polish inbetween waxing which is essentially what your doing......

      You could:
      Wash
      Clay
SwirlX or lesser aggressive cleaner for paint correction
DC2 or other favorite pure polish
      Wax X2

When I did my cars by hand, I did the DC 1-2 then waxed until I got my G100 and arsenal of Meguiar's products.....

It all depends on how you want your paint to be as far as paint correction.

      Hopefully others chime in .

I was wonder if we were to go through the 5 step process but run out of paintcleaner and only have ColorX on hand.

Of course, ColorX being an AIO solved the silly thought but I am just wondering can it be done and what will be the effects?

Right now some of my process will be:
          Wash
          Clay
          ColorX
          Wax

          or
          Wash
          Clay
          Clean - ScratchX
          Polish - DC2
          Wax x2

          or

          Wash
          Clay
          Clean
          ColorX
          Wax

The polish step is an option and ScratchX is used as needed.

It's really up to you, after a wash and clay, inspect your paint and see what it needs.

            Watcha working on?

I know that Polish looks great on a single stage or a darker base coat/clear coat paint. I've used it on our Yukon with great results but don't use it near as much as I could I guess.....

              What are you working on?
What condition is the paint in?
              What is your goal?

                Re: DC2 over ColorX?

I have done this process before:

                Wash
                Clay
                ColorX
                M07
                NXT 2.0

i really liked the results i got from this. The M07 took it to a higher level even after using ColorX and then i locked all that shine in with NXT 2.0

the pure polish step is optional too so if you have the time then go ahead and do it. If not, then ColorX/NXT works great too

Well, I have religiously follow the 5 steps system and did not read anything about using ColorX as paintcleaner and follow by a pure polish.

                    Hi Mike,

It is only just a thought because at times the stores here would run out of paintcleaner. So I am just thinking if we can polish after using ColorX as a paintcleaner.
At the moment, I would think my car is in good condition after using Meg for slightly over a year.
Now I just can't wait for the new product to be here.

Maybe I will try on one panel and see how is the effect.

The Cleaner Wax (or ColorX)/#7/NXT combination seems to be catching on. Blacktavert did the same thing just two weeks ago with his Corvette, and he loved what he saw. Who knows? Perhaps the CW/#7/NXT combo will become the latest Meguiar's fad.

well #7 is not available here. only #5 can be found. i think is likely due to the hot and humid weather we have here.

think i really need to try out Colorx/DC2/M21 combo on 1 panel and see for myself.

                              DC2 = Deep Crystal Polish

                              M07 = Show Car Glaze

Both are readily available at local auto stores (e.g., AdvanceAuto).
