ive always kinda wondered the same thing, if u detail a vehicle, and the owner doesnt take care of finsih and comes back swirled time and time again etc. how many sessions of paint correction can one do with say, M105/UC/more aggressive compounds without having to worry about getting into paint itself and ruining the finish.

sorry guys, newbie question here: If i have a pretty good (meaning light swirl marks and slight orange peel) white paint with clear coat, will using UC eat away at the clearcoat too fast? i have SwirlX and ScratchX2.0 in my arsenal and a DA with the meguiars yellow polishing pad. I want to use UC as my one step paint cleaner but im afraid it might be too aggressive? will i damage my clearcoat if i use this over the whole car??

Shouldn't hurt it at all, but I like the previous poster's advice about using least aggressive products first.

I would try the swirlX first to see if it takes care of your problem. Remember, Least aggressive method first.

Thanks for the answer, but total neewbe here. Was considering UC or swirlX, to start with, just to get comfertable with using a DA, so I don't think I want to do anything more aggressive than that.

Smart approach! Stick with the UC though; if your paint is that hard then SwirlX will likely be too mild.

You should be able to get excellent results using the W8207 Soft Buff 2.0 yellow polishing pad, although you may need couple that with M105. Try it with Ultimate Compound first, but Kickin Griffin obtained very good results with this pad and even M205 on the hard paint of a Mercedes he recently did. He was dealing with some very thin paint so he opted for a very mild approach at first, but unless you know that your Audi has been very aggressively rotary polished in the past you should be perfectly fine with a more aggressive liquid. Ultimate Compound certainly is more aggressive than the M205 he used, but M105 is even more so.

You should be able to get excellent results using the W8207 Soft Buff 2.0 yellow polishing pad, although you may need couple that with M105. Try it with Ultimate Compound first, but Kickin Griffin obtained very good results with this pad and even M205 on the hard paint of a Mercedes he recently did. There is a very high probability that the W7207/W7006 burgundy cutting pad will haze the paint when used on a D/A polisher. It's generally too aggressive when coupled with that tool. Now, that's not to say you should never use it because it can remove a more severe or stubborn defect, but you will most likely need to follow with the W8xxx pad to clean up the hazing. We just don't recommend it for general use.

Certainly the yellow one. The red cutting pad isn't actually recommended by Meguiar's to be used with the DA.

i did used it after doing the right rear panel of my black mpv, after using swirl x just to make sure i t remove anythingthat was left behind .and i must say it took out some scratches i was impressed!, and i worked it with a pc.
