ColorX is very versatile, it should be in everyone's arsenal.

Re: Ultimate compund?
Get some ColorX, wash an if needed clay the paint before applying the wax. When you apply the wax work a small section at a time, about 16" square or so with the idea to really focus on and work the section you're working on so you do a really great job of applying the wax.
After you do one section, leave the wax to dry and move onto a new section and overlap a little into the previous section. Continue this process until you've waxed the entire car or the section you want to tackle for the day.
After the wax has dried wipe it off using a clean microfiber polishing cloth.
You're done and the paint will look great.
Avoid getting this wax on rubber or plastic trim.
By the way...
What are you working on?

Re: Ultimate compund?
You would not have to.
But Meguiars recomends two thin coats of wax for best looks/protection. Also, ColorX does not have the new polymer ingrediants that Nxt 2.0 has, if you wanted to take advantage of that as well.

Cleaner/Wax, which means it contains cleaners, polishes, and wax.

Re: Ultimate compund?
ColorX would be fine.
1. Wash
2. Clay as needed
3. ColorX
4. Wax
is a popular combo for daily drivers.

Re: Ultimate compund?
The DC Cleaner is very mild, which is good for regular general cleaning. And you would not need to use a lot of passion just to work the dirt out. Just work the product in a bit.

Re: Ultimate compund?
Since you are working by hand and since you already have Deep Crystal Polish, all you need to do now is to buy a bottle of Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner. Your method would something like this:
1) Wash car
2) Claybar car, if needed
3) DC1
4) DC2
5) Wax
Have fun!Last edited by akimel; Dec 2, 2008, 07:45 AM.

I have the Deep crystal polish which I was planning on using after I clean the paint. When applying that by hand should I be using passion?
Also, I don't have DA, but I do have an orbital buffer (3200orbits/min) however I purchased that before I started reading on this forum and after all the reading I've done I've come to the conclusion that the orbital is virtually useless so I do all my work by hand now.
Thanks!

M09, M80, and M83 are all very good options.
