  • Perception vs. Reality

My questions may seem really simple to the more experienced car buffs, but here goes:
    1. When I think of UQD, I think of NXT 2.0. Is there any harm/sacrifice of shine when using UQD with GC?
    2. Is there a guide to indicate which pads work best with m83 and m105/d151?

No problems at all. All of our paint care products are compatible across our line.

Depends upon what tool you're using and what you're trying to do.

    What are you working on?
What condition is the paint? What are you trying to do with it?
    What tool are you using?

I'm working on my '97 TL and it has light-moderate swirls. You can only see the swirls up close in direct sun or flash light. The paint is in very good condition with a few minor chips. I have clayed the paint, used cleaner wax, used M07, and waxed with NXT 2.0. Seeing that the swirls still exist, I have purchased M80. My goal is to get as close to 100% free of swirls as possible. I am using the G110.

FWIW, I just finished two later model black Acura's using #80 and an 8006 polishing pad. I know Acura's (at least the later models) have somewhat soft paint so I did a small test area first to make sure there wasn't any marring. The combination worked really well - no marring and removed light to moderate swirls.

M80 with a polishing pad on the 5.0 speed setting working only small sections at at time should do the job. Do a Test Spot to a small area before going over the entire car.

Make sure you can make a small section look great before going over the entire car.

Read through the tips and technique article that is linked to on the forum homepage.

Thanks Mike and John. I look forward to trying the #80 when we get some good weather.
