Re: Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner ~ Review
Its around the same strength as the All Wheel Cleaner I believe.
On a side note, for wheels with nasty brake dust on the face of the wheels & inside the barrels, I like to hose them down with water, spray on WB at 4:1, and then pressure wash. This really gets in the nooks & crannies of the wheel and also cleans the inside of the barrels easier to. Then I follow up with a soapy water agitation.

Re: Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner ~ Review
No, OEM wheels are generally not powder coated - they're either chrome, polished aluminum with a clear coat, or fully painted. If you have aftermarket wheels you need to find out exactly what the surface material is in order to select the proper wheel cleaner. If your wheels have been refinished it's important to know that surface material as well.
For factory supplied wheels our Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner is perfectly safe. You need to be aware of aftermarket brake kits, however, as this product can sometimes stain different caliper finishes.
For quality chrome wheels (and trust us, there are some really low quality aftermarket chrome wheels out there) our Hot Rims Chrome Wheel Cleaner is perfectly safe, but the same warnings regarding brake calipers applies. You might also want to steer away from this product if you have what are known as "chrome clad" wheels. These are actually a steel wheel with a chromed plastic covering bonded to the surface. Any damage to the edges of these covers can lead to issues.
For all else, including bare high polished aluminum, powder coated, anodized (this usually includes "black chrome"), or magnesium wheels you should stick with our Hot Rims Aluminum Wheel Cleaner.
If for some reason you are still completely in doubt, stick with good ol' soap and water. Use the same car wash solution you use to wash the rest of the car, just wash the wheels last and use a dedicated wheel cleaning mitt, sponge, etc.

Big Lots seems to sell the wheel cleaners a bit cheaper sometimes if one is near you.
What dilution?

Re: Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner ~ Review
im not sure if they are aluminum
its a 3 peice amg wheel.
when i had them refinished, the option was to clearcoat the entire wheel and rim but the reason i chose not to was because the cc can crack amongst the bolts.
i dont recall if i had the face of the wheel CC

To err on caution, if those are uncoated aluminum wheels, use Meg's Hot Rims Aluminum Wheel Cleaner, it's not as aggressive as AWC and safer for your wheels.

Re: Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner ~ Review
I have both the Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner and the Hot Rims Aluminum Wheel Cleaner. I've been using the latter on my wheels and it works ok as the wheels never really get a chance to get real dirty.
Last week my son wanted to wash his Chevy Cobalt and his wheels looked like they haven't been cleaned in a year. I decided to try out the All Wheel Cleaner and I was blown away. It broke up the brake dust and dirt so that with a good rinsing with the hose they looked like a new wheels. They finished up real easy with the wheel brushes and GC Wash and conditioner.
I'm going to start using the All Wheel Cleaner on my car from now on to make cleaning the back side of the spokes less of a chore.
Mike
