  • Nxt 2.0 wax liquid - question

By corradot5, shot with Canon PowerShot A610 at 2008-08-02

Did my detailing "project" yesterday, wash, clay everything needed, then ended up using nxt 2.0 wax
after 10 minutes of drying time (did the swipe test) I removed it using a supreme shine microfibre towels,
A friend of mine came around and looked and the car, and said that he notice splotches of haze on the hood..
I said no problems, took UQD sprayed on the hood and it was partly disappeared...
Now I have read about the nxt wax and read this thread also: (a problem similar to mine)

And as far as I understand, there is no problem using UQD in this case to even out the coat of the wax on the hood, ALTHOUGH it was only 15min after doing the wax, am I right? or is there any chance i just removed the wax from my hood?

Also, the car have a real thin coat of dust on it now, light dust, and I want to make the second coat of wax, the right thing to do is using quick detailer to clean the surface, then put wax on it, let it dry 10-15 min (swipe test) and remove? and that's it, right? just wanna make sure...

-Car is covered in the garage, didn't drive it since the first coat of wax-

Happens for some reason. The only problem I see is you rubbed on the paint 15 minutes after waxing. The paint should be left alone for at least 12 hours before you touch it to give the wax time to cure. If you just have a light layer of dust, you can QD and re-wax; just make sure you get all of the dust off. If the haze is still there after the second coat (this will ensure even coverage too), it should come off the next time you wash it. Washing has been my best and easiest experience removing those streaks.

I've had a similar problem, but I've found that it's more not letting the wax dry. If it's really humid outside or unseasonably cool outside, you'll find it will take longer for the wax to cure.
