  • when to apply touch-up paint??

my truck is a black 2004. dont feel i need the clay. will be doing a good wash, using the step 1 paint cleaner to the whole vehicle, scratch x only on a couple minor scuffs and spots, then step 2 polish, and nxt tech 2.0 wax.
I have a few tiny rock chips on the hood and fenders that i would like to apply touch-up paint to. and also small scratch that will need the paint pen. what steps should this be done between to get the best blending of the paint to make it the least noticeable, and give the best results? thanks!

You do not want wax, and I might avoid the pure polish, on the areas needing the touch up paint. Kind of leave a bit of a cushion around those areas.

Blending is a whole other issue. Unless you plan to get into wet sanding and all that, just use as small a paint brush as possible, and apply only a little at a time.

And if you havent tried claying, I would.
