    Hello All,

I just bought and applied NXT 2.0 this weekend to my Ford Escape and was a little surprised that I was having some difficulty applying the wax in certain areas (primarily the hood). I was shaking the bottle all day but should note that it was a very cool, dry day down here in TX.

Anyway, I have previously used NXT on both my vehicles with no problems. I was curious about the following:

    1. I have seen many comments about applying thin coats of NXT 2.0. I always think more is better but perhaps this is not the case. What is the difference between NXT and NXT 2.0? I think it may be possible that I tried to use too much product in the trouble areas.
    2. The applicator pad that came in the box seemed to be thicker and more abrasive. Is this my imagination? Should I try a different applicator pad?
    3. Anybody familiar with Ford paint jobs? It holds up well but definitely not as smooth / clean as my Infiniti?
    4. I am working on my Infiniti G35 this weekend. It already has a pretty good coat of NXT on it. Should I be concerned about putting a layer of NXT 2.0 on top?

    Please advise.

Thin coats are definately important, esp on a cool day when the product could take longer to dry.

Did you prep the paint at all, or do so recently? Such as using clay, cleaner, polish, or a cleaner/wax?

      Murr,

I do not normally prep my cars other than a good wash and rinse. I have never had any problems before. Also, I did not have trouble with the wax drying but the actual application of the wax. It was very difficult to apply in certain areas. I have never had this problem before especially with NXT.

Thick coats waste product, make drying take longer and make wipe off more difficult, all you need is a well worked think layer.

The purple foam applicator is the same type of foam as our yellow foam applicator and both are soft and gentle to your finish.

Sounds like you might need to clay the paint and also clean it with a dedicated paint cleaner like Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner. End results are always based upon prep work. Wash the vehicle and then feel the paint with your clean hand, it should feel smooth and very glassy, if this car is a daily driver, parked outside for any length of time each day then it's highly likely the paint is dirty and needs to be clayed and cleaned.

Again, "FEEL" your paint after washing or wiping clean with your clean hand, the paint should FEEL smooth and glassy, if it doesn't then you likely need to clay and clean before waxing.
