  • NXT application VS rain

Yesterday I applied a second coat of NXT (after a 24 hour wait) and while I was removing it with a MF, it started to sprinkle. It was very light, only about 2 or 3 small dots of water per square inch, but you could tell that my MF was getting damp.

The NXT appeared to remove just fine, and the surface of the car looked like I expected it to (clear, glossy and wet...not rain wet ) Once I was done, it started raining pretty hard. My question is how badly will the NXT be affected by being rained on so soon after being applied?

Not bad at all...probably won't have optimal crosslinking with the polymer, but the noticable difference will be VERY small...(some would say insignificantly so...)
Normal people usually don't worry about it...it's only some of us crazies that go to the extremes...I think if you're putting a second layer on, you're already well above average...

I have had NXT on for a couple of months and the rain still beads up, so far it's been holding up.

That's not the issue. The question has to do with how rain affects NXT immediately after it is applied.

My thought is that it won't affect it much. Keep in mind, the spray Booster Wax has an option of putting it on a wet car. Since the NXT liquid wax and the spray booster wax contain the same active ingredients, I would think your application in the rain, as well as the heavy rain immediately following removal, won't matter a bit.
