I've never utilized the product but, from nearly all accounts, SCRATCH-X seems to rise to the occasion and make a lot of people very happy with the results.
Quick question for you....
Are the scratches you're planning on dealing with localized or widespread across your finish?
The reason I ask this is because it seems that the product is to be used on more of a 'onesy and twosey' type of scratch situation and not necessarily over the entire vehicle.

I just realized that I have two posts on this sorry about that gets a little confusing when belonging to several message boards. anyway....
2hotford... Yes its BC/CC and I will try it the way you suggested with the scratch X I might not be working it in long enough.
I would like to do the entire truck but I might go pick some #9 2.0 I have heard some good comments about it.Last edited by gb387; Feb 22, 2004, 12:31 PM.Brandon

Meguiar's #9 is a very popular product because of one huge reason.... it works.
For minor swirls/scuffs, I'd definately give it a try and keep a bottle handy in your aresonal of products.

You know I never really got any results with the Scratch X try some of the tips that I got from others so I am going to pick up a bottle of #9 and be done with it.
I don't know maybe I am asking too much of the Scratch X, they are very light swirls and/or scraches you can only see if the light is just right and you know where to look but I know they are there and that is the problem.Brandon

Or evaluating the finish after only ScratchX? ScratchX is only a paint cleaner, it is not a wax or paint protectant. I have always had excellent results using ScratchX unless the scratches have been too deep. If your aiming for perfection, then stepping up to the porter cable dual action polisher is the way to go.

Welcome to Meguiar's Online Discussion forums!
ScratchX uses microscopic diminishing abrasives plus chemical cleaners, while Deep Crystal Step-1 Paint Cleaner uses chemical cleaners only.
Deep Crystal Step-1 Paint Cleaner is the mildest, dedicated paint cleaners Meguiar’s' offers. ScratchX will remove a much wider range of paint defects.
Hope this helps...
