ColorX safe to use on constant basis?

Just curious, i am very happy with the results of ColorX on the badly faded paint on my '87 944. Is it safe to use this produc every 3-4 months when i wax the car? I tend to wax only a couple panels at a time, maybe a hood and fenders...roof and bumpers..etc at a time so i dont get sick of doing the same thing.

I tried the ColorX first, then 3M Imperial handglaze followed by a 2-3 year old bottle of Mequiar's liquid carnuba wax and it came out very well. May try the harder wax in the can..next time, was just to lazy to use that stuff this time around .

Yup, ColorX is quite safe. I use it often on my daily driver, topped with #21. I cant do every step every time, when it gets dirty in about 4 hours, so it cuts out steps nicely.

I really like the #21 on top of ColorX, but you can cerainly try any wax on top of it. (#21 is liquid)

The answer to your question is... absolutely.

ColorX is a strong cleaner/wax but you have to remember that first it's non-abrasive in that it contains no ingredients that will scratch your car's paint. It does contain diminishing abrasives but don't be fooled into thinking there is grit inside the bottle, if fact next time you use the product simply pour some between your fingers and feel it for yourself, it will feel like Jergens Hand Lotion.

Next, part of the cleaning action of any product comes from --> You <-- and the passion you put behind your applicator as well as the material your applicator is made out of.

For example, for extra cleaning action, put some passion behind your pad and use a piece of terry cloth towel. For light cleaning action, spread onto the paint gently with a clean soft foam applicator pad.

See the difference?

You might want to consider trying out a different wax now that you've restored the finish, a popular combination is ColorX followed by or transitioned to NXT Tech Wax.

Hey all, thank you for the reccomendations. I am going to try the TechWax when i get around to doing the entire car all in one shot, probably in a few weeks. My car sits outside year-round and is never in the garage..so it would be nice to have something that lasts a bit longer between washes and waxing.

Also been meaning to by a DA buffer..but honestly enjoy doing it by hand. I plan to let my friend who details cars in his spare time to have a go at mine..he does a very nice job on all of my other friends cars and constantly talks about how he could save the fading red paint. I figure ill let him have a go and just constantly keep up with the waxing to preserve his results.

I also have a question about the TechWax, i see its best to apply it in two coats. My car sits out all the time, would it be acceptable to wax it the first time, then maybe cover the car with a Tyvek car cover and wax again in the morning? Should i wash the car again before the 2nd application?
