I am not sure how old the 1st label is, so if you see both on a store shelf, you might want to grab the bottle in the 2nd picture to ensure it is relatively new.
Edit:
Other countires could get different labels as well. The 2nd pic is the current American label, I dont know about your area.
Thank you guys, The first one might be the old stock. BTW, both are being sold in the States. Do a search ( Meguiars cleaner wax ) at MSN or yahoo and you will see that the 1st one is sold around $7.99 and 2nd one around $5.99.
( Around here, i get both of them at different stores )

Both products pictures are Meguiar's A1216 Cleaner/Wax, the only difference is that Meguiar's is always improving and updating formulas as new technology is available, thus the newest products always have the most recent formula improvements.
I know our cleaner/wax was reformulated and improved about a year ago, I'm not aware of any formula changes since then.
Either way, Meguiar's cleaner/wax works great, a testimony to this fact is that it has been on the market since 1973, that's 33 years.
Also note, cleaner/waxes are not wipe on, wipe off products, they are intended to be worked into and against the finish as part of the cleaning ability of any cleaning type products comes from the passion you put behind the pad.

It what situation or application would Meguiar's A1216 Cleaner/Wax be used instead of ColorX? From my limited experience A1216, ColorX cleans better and last longer.

A1216 is a mild cleaner/wax, that is it's not intended to go after severely neglected finishes like ColorX, (a strong cleaner wax), is formulated to go after.
One is mild and one is aggressive relative to cleaner/waxes.

Though ColorX is more aggressive then A1216, ColorX can still be used on finishes in good condition and can be used as one's LSP on a monthly basis without harm, right?

Yes.
Aggressive is a relative term. ColorX is aggressive compared to A12 Cleaner/Wax, but it's gentle compared to a compound or even M83 DACP
Also, part of the cleaning action comes from you, for more cleaning action, apply aggressively, for less cleaning action apply gently.
Good Questions.
