  • Best Tire Dressing in the Largest Size?

So today I bought a spray bottle of Hot Shine Liquid Tire Dressing at Walmart and absolutely fell in love with the stuff. It's amazing. It's costly at $5.50 for a 24oz bottle. So my question is, can I buy anything in a larger size that will give me results as great as this?

And by the way if you haven't tried Hot Shine Liquid Tire Dressing, you have no clue what your missing out on. It's gorgeous once applied.

        ASD or Hyper Dressing 1:1

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

        I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
        Remove swirls my friends.

I agree with Andrew. I use both ASD and Hyper Dressing, but I think my favorite is the Hyper Dressing. It's so absurdly easy to use and soaks in so well.

Why would you pick All Season Dressing over Hyper Dressing? Mark Kleis made his case for HD, so lets hear it.

Hyper Dressing is water based, and this not nearly as durable as All-Season Dressing (not the name )

Hyper Dressing is great for engine bays and wheel wells if you detail regularly since it works its magic and once misted, I never even touch anything. It just spreads evenly on its own.

ASD works more like a traditional (read: not magic based) dressing and I use some form of applicator to spread it around the surface of whatever I am spraying it on.

In the end, they look awfully close, but I personally prefer Hyper Dressing just slightly. during rainy season I use ASD and by no means do I feel like it is lacking in any way compared to HD, it's just different.

Another vote for ASD. It's great! A gallon will last you FOREVER!

ASD holds up great in the rain and washing.

Hyper dressing has its place and If you're in a dry cliamte, don't wash often etc. it's great! Or if you don't mind re applying often...

The only drawback to ASD is that if you get it on you its really greasy. I wear gloves when i use it. Otherwise my hands bead water or about 3 days lol

I thought I remember reading a post by Mike Phillips stating that the tire dressing and "stuff" in it to help preserve and protect rubber tires. However he stated that ASD did not have such "stuff" since it wasn't specifically designed for use on tires. Since then I've been using tire dressing instead of ASD. I'm almost positive I remember reading this. If anyone could find that thread it would be great, I'll look too.

Edit: Found the thread. Read post #18 & #19. I didn't get a conformation but it seems to be ASD would not contain the "special conditioning agents as well as patented antiozonants that replenish your tires",

I'm a Hyper man myself, just recently though. For years I've used NXT in an aerosol can cause it's so dang easy.

When living in a dry climate such as Southern California, rain is not that big of an issue. That being said, one thing I really like about HD that you cannot do with ASD is dilute it.

You can mix it at 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4 or whatever you prefer. I personally like a shinnier tire but I have had customers who want the tire dressed but just a matte look. It is all personal preference but this is when HD 1:4 comes in handy as it still looks dressed but not dripping wet.

I couldn't help but notice that all of the dressing he listed were consumer line dressings. Mike often will leave out some of the D line stuff because there is a good portion of people here who only buy in stores and not online where you can get D Line items.

Maybe Mike Pennington can chime in and let us know whether or not ASD and HD have the antiozonant replenishers?
