Off-color Hyper Wash?

I went to a place that sold Hyper wash yesterday and picked a gallon of it up. I noticed though that there were two gallon jugs, both the same part numbers, etc. But one was filled higher, was a lighter, more faded color, and seemed less viscous. i picked up the darker colored, more viscous one as it seemed to be the "correct" product. I noticed difference in colors at another place I went to last week while I was looking through the store.

Were these products tampered with? Is there shelf life of hyper wash?

There is not really a "shelf life" on washes.

As far as thickness goes, there was a formula change in the past (Spring 07). The thicker one was the original, but the thinner one is the newest version.

The change took place to accomodate metering systems which you mostly see in carwashes and dealerships. The thicker product would not go through a metering system as easily as we liked, where as, the thinner version will.

As an FYI....Shampoo Plus was also changed to a bit thinner viscosity at the same time
