i just got mine and wow great product i should have ordered two, but ill wait till its in stores to pick up another one, but not to bad mouth other products but this by far is better then the mothers product i was using before this, i love how it dries, so even if you touch it there are no finger prints left behind!
Very nice!!
Last week we were at the Advance Auto Parts Manager's Conference showing off our new products for 2010, one of them being UP, of course. We had applied it to a few sections of trim on a black 2010 Mustang convertible and people were touching it all day long. Lots of people. And it looked great through it all!

So, Mike, when will you guys start shipping the ULTIMATE PROTECTANT in local stores, like WalMart. Sorry, you probably posted the release date for this product already, but I can't find it. Thanks!
Has anyone tested it on a vinyl top? I want to know if this would be good for my landau top. Also, how good is it SPF wise, I'm really happy with M40 but I want that protection without run off during the rain.
With that being said, how would it do up against, say, Hot Shine Tire Foam?
I have just recently tried it, and then we got 4 days of good rain, and it was gone. Which was expected.
Hard to say since we've never really done any comparison tests on tires - being that we don't recommend it for that application we don't test against other products in that category.
I know you mentioned that it won't last as long as on plastic, but what's the expected longevity on tires?
Interestingly enough, longevity on tires is not what you might expect. The issue is that since this product dries almost like a wax on non porous surfaces, the constant flexing of a tire will actually start to crack the coating - on a microscopic level, of course - and this will shorten the lifespan of the product. That said, we know several people who have tried it on tires and like it very much. In a very dry climate like here in SoCal it isn't much of an issue for the most part, but if you get a lot of rain and you've got these little micro fissures in the product, it may matter to you.
Now, do not go getting visions of Ultimate Protectant drying in a thick, glossy layer that will crack and give an appearance like creased plastic wrap, or of the product cracking and slinging off, or leaving a little pile of residue next to your tires, or anything like that. You would not visually be able to tell this micro cracking was happening, but it would happen and it would compromise the longevity of the product. Visually all you would notice is just that - a shorter than expected lifespan of the product.
It won't hurt anything and it won't look bad (it'll actually look pretty good, at least at first) but these are the kinds of things that prompt us to say "this product is not recommended for __________ application".
