Re: Ultimate Protectant
Nick - It may have already been covered, but are you finding UP in stores locally? If so, what retailers? I hit Walmart, O'Reilly's, & Auto Zone today and couldn't find any.

Re: Ultimate Protectant
I finally bought one. It's great on my window trims! Compare to GC Trim Detailer, it's less greasy.

I dont know how you guys use a foam pad without getting it on the paint or glass. It's too big. I also dont know how only a quarter size ammount was able to do that vehicle in the other thread. It took me about 4 quarters to get just my cowl done.
It's really really shiny in sunlight. Looks like I just rubbed grease onto it. Even when I wiped the excess. In the shade, it looks much better.Originally posted by 79elcamino View Posti still cant get mine to last through the rain and about the no finger prints, i know when you put ur hand on the surface there r no finger prints but when u apply a little pressure a finger print forms, is that how its supposed to be or did it not dry, cause its been 2 days already and it been nice out high 50s.

I can't wait to use UP on the dry and weathered 31 year old trim on my Oldsmobile.
How you apply UP is very important, however, and the area does need to be pretty clean before application as well. People tend to treat it like a typical protectant that is applied fairly generously, allowed to sit and soak in, and then wipe off. That process is not ideal with UP as it actually bonds to the surface much like wax does on paint. A very thin application, well worked against the surface, will return optimum results.
See How to apply Ultimate Protectant for a quick review of proper application technique.

Since from the pictures posted in the Lab Sample P threads, UP had a restoration effect as well. In this case I think I'm gonna have to go with Mothers Back to Black seeing as how the previous member says it lasts longer than UP, and UP gets washed up in rain.

Re: Ultimate Protectant
What is the difference between this product and Mother's Back to Black? I heard Mother's B2B is very effective in restoring faded trim pieces and is rated to be the ideal choice by many people.
