This is great to hear, GC Trim Detailer looks so cheap at first from being so greasy, but after it dries it does look very nice.

Nick - It may have already been covered, but are you finding UP in stores locally? If so, what retailers? I hit Walmart, O'Reilly's, & Auto Zone today and couldn't find any.

I dont know how you guys use a foam pad without getting it on the paint or glass. It's too big. I also dont know how only a quarter size ammount was able to do that vehicle in the other thread. It took me about 4 quarters to get just my cowl done.

It's really really shiny in sunlight. Looks like I just rubbed grease onto it. Even when I wiped the excess. In the shade, it looks much better.

It sounds as though both of you are just using too much product. A little bit goes a long way, and if properly applied there won't be an excess to remove. You do need to work it in a bit, just like applying a cleaner wax, or even a paint cleaner, by hand. The difference being you should be able to just walk away from it when done.

Yes, one of our Special Events guys had an early sample applied to his Xterra bumpers and the restorative properties and longevity were pretty amazing. One of our Product Managers applied some to his wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee side trim panels and it still looked very good two months and a few washes later.

How you apply UP is very important, however, and the area does need to be pretty clean before application as well. People tend to treat it like a typical protectant that is applied fairly generously, allowed to sit and soak in, and then wipe off. That process is not ideal with UP as it actually bonds to the surface much like wax does on paint. A very thin application, well worked against the surface, will return optimum results.

See How to apply Ultimate Protectant for a quick review of proper application technique.

Since from the pictures posted in the Lab Sample P threads, UP had a restoration effect as well. In this case I think I'm gonna have to go with Mothers Back to Black seeing as how the previous member says it lasts longer than UP, and UP gets washed up in rain.

What is the difference between this product and Mother's Back to Black? I heard Mother's B2B is very effective in restoring faded trim pieces and is rated to be the ideal choice by many people.

I was going to do the same but I think I heard someone say GC Trim Detailer is good to have for something or another. Darn wish I could remember. I think maybe it cleans or restores better?
