  • Marine/RV M44 and M49 question

    Hi,
Do either M44 Color Restorer or M49 Heavy Duty Oxidation Remover contain polish? Or are these products "cleaners" or light compound products alone? I am suessing M50 Cleaner/Wax does contain some polish just like #6 Cleaner/Wax in the auto line... Am I correct here?

    Thanks!!

    Re: Marine/RV M44 and M49 question

Both of these contain some polish, yes, but as with the Mirror Glaze line where the more cut you have the less polish you get (general rule of thumb, at least when you look at M82, M80, M83 etc) the same holds true here. So M44 will have less cut but more polish than M49, and M67 One Step Compound has very little, if any, since it really is a compound. All of these are diminishing abrasive cleaners though, not SMAT like M205, M105 and even M91 in the Marine/RV line.

M50 Marine/RV Cleaner Wax does indeed contain the same sort of cleaner/polish/protection ratio that M06 does, so you're spot on there, too.

Yes, M91 has always been a SMAT product. The tweak to the formulation in the past year was to make it perform a bit better on older, dried out gel coats that it used to struggle with.
