  • Quik Clean or Quik Wax - Part 2

Posted this (below) in another forum and the response indicated that Quik Wax should only be applied to a clean surface. However, the Quik Wax bottle says "Quik Wax gently cleans the surface removing water spots and contaminants"

The Quik Clean bottle says " ...to remove water spots and other contaminants"

So, I am back to my original quandry..... Not sure I see the difference between Quik Wax and Quik Clean except fot the application of some product with the Quik Wax.... the explainations on the bottles contain the exact wording in certain areas.
    Thanks, again !
    Jeff

    (original post)
    Hi All:

    (on my boat)

Not sure which product to use. Both seem to indicate that they will produce a glossy shine, and both seem to indicate that they will do "some" cleaning of the surface. Obviously, the Quik wax will also add wax, but on a previously waxed surface, does this matter that much ?

Will the Quik Clean remove any of the existing wax ?

If I was to "stay on top" of the cleaning, say, every other day or so, which product would be best

    Thanks for any help !

    Jeff

Re: Quik Clean or Quik Wax - Part 2

I'm not familiar with the marine line, but if quick clean is anything like quick detailer then this is my understanding.

Quick Detailer should be used in order to clean the car after it has been sitting outside overnight or equivalent. This means that you are rmoving fine dust and pollen.

Quick Wax should be used on a just washed car in order to ''top up'' the wax. It helps prolong the life of your current wax layer. In other words it evens out the layer and should prolong your waxing intervals. I believe the description you said concerning the quick wax ''cleans waterspots'' is pretty much it. After washing and drying your car, if you happen to notice a few waterspots that you missed, the Quick Wax can take care of it.

This is my understanding and I can be wrong, as I mentioned I'm not even sure if Quick Clean is even similar to Quick Detailer.
