  • 151 on Boat Gelcoat

Today i one stepped a boat that was surprisingly soft!
    it was a 2003 27' Rinker BEAST!
one side buffed well but when i made my way around to the other side i had to lower my speed on the makita to speed 2 in order to prevent marring ... i literally was burnishing the paint to achieve an even gloss ... now that i think about it, im afraid that the oils in 151 simply masked the light oxidation and didnt really remove any ...
I tried my FLEX with an orange LC pad and #49 thinking i needed more cut and major MARR ... then went to 151 at speed 3-4 and nothing ... cut it back to 2 and clarity improved but i could still see thru and noticed some of the haze ...
    what could have gone wrong?

#151 (and other car products) can be used on a boat, but as noted, gel coat is a bit tougher. So a car product may not be strong enough.
