No customer cars to do today so I figured I would tackle my neglected boat.
Started out with a 2000 grit wet sand and then used Megs Marine #49 on a Makita rotary with wool pad. Then tried Megs Ultimate Compound on a section but found that it did nothing to help the finish. The finish at this point was dull and smooth like glass.
Then I applied Megs #45 with my PC on and it left a decent shine. I was expecting much more from all the my hard work so far.
I then tried topping it with Opti-Seal and it actually took the shine away in some spots. I couldn't capture it with my camera unfortunately. Almost like it was taking the oils off the boat.
So I figured I would use some Mothers QD on the spots and that made it worse yet.
So I went back over with the #45 and called it a night.
Is there a cure time with #45 before I move on or what could be my problem here?
