Had a call from a local construction company to buff out a truck they just bought. Said it had a bit of faded paint and wanted the ghosting removed on the doors from the old decals. Yeah....so several hours and 18 pads (mix of 6"3" and 2") I got it looking great! There is lots of crazing and microcracks on the fiberglass hood, but can't be seen from a few inches away.
*Griot's G21 and G6 (with 3" HD plate) and G3 (with 2" plate)
*All BOSS Orange pads. Tried MF, but they clogged up too quickly with the massive amounts of the residue was pulling off. Foam worked well although they had to be blown out after just a couple passes.
*Megs D166...yes Ultra Polishing Wax. And a lot of it...think i used 10oz on the truck. It worked surprisingly well. The oils really fed into the paint and absorbed a lot of it. Love industrial single-stage!
*Topped off with Griots'sBest of Show Wax
I think the pics speak for themselves. LOTS of work, but a very happy customer and has several more for me to do (but in much better shape).
