  • 2014 Nissan 370z Paint Correction

This Z had some swirls and a couple other defects in the paint that the customer wanted removed. The paint wasn't that bad for what it was. I was expecting this paint to be on the soft side and it turned out to to a bit harder than expected but all in all it didn't come out too bad. Hope you guys enjoy this video. Thanks for watching.

        Cool video Jesse!

Is that your standard procedure to foam cannon a car following a correction? I'm assuming it's to remove any compound residue/dust from all those areas it likes to collect, right? Are you using just a typical car wash soap when you do that or an APC of some sort? Is it just foam cannon and pressure wash rinse, or do you go over it with a mitt as well?

Lastly, what paint thickness gauge was that? It integrates with your smart phone??????? I want one!!!

          Great work again Jesse!

I was going to ask the same questions as Mike about the PTG and the foam cannon. Unless your videos are out of sequence; i.e. you edit them to show the compounding/polishing first and then the wash?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Thanks Mike!! Yes, whenever I do paint correction I will follow up with the foam cannon and pressure rinse without touching the car with any mitt. I want to be sure I remove any dust so I can do my finishing as clean as possible. I'll air dry the vehicle as well. As for the paint thickness gauge it's a Defelsko Positector 6000 Smartlink. It's a great unit. Any updates go straight to your mobile app so no need to replace the unit. There are a few different probes available. The one that I'm using the 6000 would be the most common one.

Thank you Davey!! On this particular vehicle I started with a rinseless wash. It had been washed the day before by the owner. Typically I do a pre-wash then paint correct then a rinsedown. To answer Mikes question I believe I was using shampoo plus. I use 3m Inspection spray to wipe down. That stuff is great!!! The video was edited in sequence. Thanks again.
