  • First detail project

I have recently purchased a dual action machine polisher - the das6, along with this I got 4 pads- compounding, polishing, finishing and waxing pads. So I decided to try it out on my dad's Toyota since its got 6 years worth of swirl marks, oxidation and scratches. The car was barely taken care of except some spray wax every few months.

    Process:
    Wash with CG Mr Pink
    Clayed using Clay Cloth
Megs UC on foam cutting pad
Megs UP on foam polishing pad
Megs consumer line cleaner wax by hand
and Artdeshine Nano Gloss Paint Sealent for the LSP

Unfortunately I hadn't purchased a good protection wax/sealant such as carnauba since it was holiday season down here and no stores were open for a few days. Anyways, let the pictures talk:

    after uc:

    after up:

    all done:

any suggestions are welcome, trying to get better at this..

Well, it would be better to do this:

    1. Wash
    2. Clay
    3. Cleaner/wax
    4. Wax

    OR:

    1. Wash
    2. Clay
    3. UC if needed
    4. UP
    5. Wax
    6. Wax

And then using something like Ult. Quick Wax after future washes, or while drying.

UP then a cleaner/wax is kind of a waste...

Agreed. The cleaner wax removed the polish. Would have been best to follow the polish with the sealant or a carnauba and not a cleaner wax.
