  • Wet Sanding, Rotary, Rupes, Opti Coat the works... (What do you guys think?)

The first part of the video was a test spot, to see what my Rotary polisher, wool pad and compound would do. It didn't do much so we just wet sanded.

This is "Project Geronimo...!" , Since I wasn't able to measure the paint with my PTG because it is not metal.

See you guys tomorrow to the 101 class. Lets see what else I can learn.

^ This was a test spot to see if a Rotary, wool pad and FG400 could remove any swirls, but it didn't really do any good. So that is why I decided to go ahead and wet sand.

This is how my Rotary, wool pad, and FG400 left the paint. Hey well at least the sanding marks are gone now.

There were swirls were still there and bugging me so I sanded them off

          ^ Final Polish

I wanted to show some before and after shots. So on the passnegers side I polished using my Rupes and I left the drivers side untouched as you will see the holograms still left due to not being polished out.

          Drivers side

Holograms polished out (The sanding and rotary part was the more difficult part, this was easy)

          ^ Polish

The reflection of the paint is AFTER doing an IPA wipedown

If you look at the reflection of the light, you can see a high spot(s)

^ You will see that there are some swirls left. This is because it is not a show car or a garage queen. It is my DD that is parked outside 24/7 and the paint on the spoiler is OEM and the car before I got it was very heavily neglected and swirled out EVERYWHERE! Plus the car is 11 years old, So since I wasn't able to measure the paint with my PTG because the spoiler is not metal (Hence the name "Project Geronimo...!") lol

I sanded with the hopes that I didn't strike through the CC and just let my skills, knowledge and experience guide me. I finally Opti Coated the paint to help preserve what is left.

My car is a 2003 Dodge Stratus Coupe

Thanks guys. It's finally been seven days since I applied Opti Coat. So woke up early and went and washed my car. It looks good so I'm happy.

TNOG for me today so whoever is going see you there.
