  • Infiniti Interior Leather cleaning and carpet shampoo

I worked on an Inifiniti this morning. It belonged to this lady that lives down the street. I gave her a great deal on a leather cleaning and conditioning and a carpet shampoo. The steps I took are below. I was wearing gloves the whole time.

Removed floor mats,l vacuumed them and wet them with water.
Sprayed some degreaser on them and a little bit of dawn.
Used a drill brush to work the products in.
Extracted the water and repeated the process until all the oil, grease and stains were removed.

I moved on to the interior of the car and started on the leather.

Sprayed APC+ on the seats a few sections at a time and brushed it in with a soft brush until all the dirt was removed.
Used Meguiar's leather conditioner applied with an applicator pad.

Now I moved on to the carpet.

Vacuumed the interior and misted the carpet with APC+. I worked on one side at a time.
I used a carpet brush, a long brush with a handle and a small brush with a handle.
I wiped up the area with a clean towel.

The lady has allergies and can't stand the smell of chemicals or anything like that so I steamed the carpets with a McCulloch steam cleaner and I also did the floor mats. She was very pleased with the car and now I have a new customer, her husband. I have before and after pictures but they are not of the entire process. I have one with one floor mat I finished and the other two that I hadn't finished yet. I also have some pictures of the leather that are half finished half not. I also took a picture of my drill brush and my extractor. The Bissell auto care with a hose that I modified to 11 feet because it was only 3'10" brand new.

Wow, that thing was just.......dirty. How in the world do you get carpets and seats THAT dirty? In a truck used on construction sites we can understand, but this is crazy. Nice work though, and congrats on picking up the spouse as a new client because of it!

Thank you. I just did another car the other day that was worse than this one. Here are a few pictures I took showing 50/50.

Wow I have no idea how every surface on that interior can get that nasty. My only guess would be they were smoking...what I'm not sure. Hope you wore nitrile gloves.

Yes. I always wear gloves. You never know what they had in that car. I wear a mask too because I don't want to smell anything.

Nice work on the cloth upholstery, too! Is it safe to assume this was also done with APC+ and the same tools as you showed earlier?

                      Michael,

Yes I used APC+ with some carpet cleaner solution I have for my extractor. I used steam to get that red mark out of the headrest. I used about 25 terry clothes just on the interior of this car. It was bad. I also found about 4 coffee thermos under the seats. That's when I realized that the yellow stuff that I was sucking up with the extractor was coffee. The carpet had holes in it and burns. I told the customer that it would be better to just buy a new carpet but after I was done he said he loved it. I wasn't to satisfied with the carpets though. Now he wants me to detail his wife's mustang. His sister also wants to get her car done. So I guess I am satisfied with that.

Why do people leave their cars to get this dirty? I mean, is their house that dirty? Would they live in a house that dirty? It just doesn't make sense...

                          Oh yeah...nice work!

CreamPuff I have no idea. I know that she owns a business and is always back and forth. I know her husband works in construction and he uses the car too LOL. Thanks
