After doing a number of large projects like this we have our system refined pretty nice and efficient.

I'm really hoping that i can get involve in this great great Project... With so many great detailer working together on something that great... It's just like a dream ... Envy you ... Great Job Man

Just working side by side with other detailers of this caliber was a treat in it's self.

I wish my Dad were still alive to see the fantistic job on this...he flew Super-Forts in/during WW2.

I was extremely proud and honored to help lead such an incredible group! It was lots of work (I was toast at the end of the project) but it was an event I will hold near and dear in my heart!

After hours of hardcore polishing we were rewarded with a brilliant mirror finish! She now can be displayed proudly for future generations to enjoy.

Guess how much fun polishing up and some times over your head is. If you guess it isn't you guessed correctly. It takes heart to muscle pass the burn and pull shine from these old aluminum panels! Other areas where just plain hard to get to and polish. How high do you think these guys are that are polishing the tail?? Higher than you would want to fall!

As a finishing team was perfecting SAM970 we pulled techs from her and started them on T Square.

The second aircraft we shined was a B-29 Superfortress, "T-Square 54" This aircraft is the same type that dropped the atomic bombs on Japan in 1945. T-Square 54 flew over 30 missions against Japan and flew as an aerial tanker in the Korea war. Some time in the late 50's she was placed in the mojave desert as a target at China Lake gunnery range. Luckily she had been hardly affected and was rescued years later.

We found her in a desperate need of a shine.

Well said...if us detail nuts can come together surely our politicians can! This was a wonderful team of professionals..all worked very hard and the ego's were all left at home. Everyone came together and made it work and did a wonderful job preserving history!

Politicians take note! Now you can see what a group of everyday people can accomplish in short while.And we pay Washington politicians for what?

All labor was performed without pay. 100% volunteer. I believe travel and lodging for those that had been there before was covered.
