I am a long time lurker on this board as I have gathered my "arsenal" of detailing tools. After gathering a lot of information, I sent out to put it to good use and cannot be happier with the results
. I want to thank everyone at Meguiar's and this forum for the knowledge they unknowingly contributed to me by showing off the fruits of my labor
. My process was:
Interior:
Vacuum interior
Wipe down interior with a rag dampened with APC at 10:1 to remove any old dressing.
Wipe down with Ultimate Protectant
Spot cleaned floor mats with APC, a scrub brush and a shop vac.
Cleaned all interior glass with Invisible Glass and a microfiber towel
Exterior:
- Wash with GC and wool mit using two bucket method and 2 Grit Guards
- Clay
- Ultimate Polish with PC 7424 XP on speed 4 with Meguiar's finishing pad
- 2 coats of NXT 2.0 applied with the PC and a finishing pad
- Coated all exterior plastic and wheel wells with Ultimate Protectant
- Gold Class Endurance Gel on the tires
- Exterior glass cleaned with Invisible Glass and a microfiber towel
The whole process took me about 8 man hours (with a 12 hour break between coats of wax)
Here's how it looks today, about 10 driving days later, after a wipe down with some Ultimate Quik Detailer and some more tire dressing applied.
