  • DA Microfiber System....Black Silverado...

Here’s a black Silverado I did several months ago.
New DA Microfiber pads, Meguiar’s G110v2, DA Compound. Finished up with the new Finishing Wax from Meguiar’s.

      Great work, Nick.

      Just couple questions:

      - have you ever needed more than 6 section passes for heavy defect removal with D300?

      - do you use moderate/ heavy pressure for initial 3 passes and then light/ medium pressure for remaining passes?

I'm a bit different then most detailers out there. I don't work an area x amount of passes, then move onto the next area. I tend to work things inch by inch, using the outer edge of the pads surface. Then when I'm satisfied with the cutting results, I'll lay the pad flat and do a couple of light passes across the area I just worked, without using anymore product.

Not sure if that makes sense or not. Much easier to show someone how I do things then to type it out lol!

It makes perfect sense. That's exactly what Paul Daulton of Miracle Detail does as well.

I must give it a go ahead and try.

I'm trying to visualize that a little but it's not working...........whatever your technique is it works tremendously!

Absolutely nice job Nick, just gave another reason why to get this DA MF system =D

I still consider my self a novice, but I notice that on your 2nd and last picture from the afters, thats exactly how my black f-150 looks. Is that considered orange peel or is that just how paint is supposed to be.

How was the Chevrolet paint, hard? Was it difficult to remove the swirls due to the hardness of the paint or did the microfiber pads work fine?

The last picture has more orange peel than any of the others. It's perfectly normal to have with any production vehicle. Some have it more than others. Learn to live with it. Every siiingle vehicle you will ever own will have this on some level

I don't find Chevy paint too hard to work with at all. MF pads cut them out with ease!

Thanks for responding, and great news! I had trouble back in the day with 8006 pads using #83. I'll have to give this new system a try.

Great Job, my brothers f150 is very similar to the condition of this chevy, I may have to look into the da pads to try and make it a pleasant experience.

Hey now, my Colorado has a custom paint on it. So there are exceptions to the rule
