That should protect the carpet well, I did a work truck a year ago with super clean carpet but extremly dirty weather tech floor liners.

I would have rather cleaned the floor liners than the carpet. lol.

I own a mazda 3 and yes it's a pain...find if you keep it clean all the time it's much easier to clean..but if you leave it to long it's a pain

Unfortunately, I don't really have a solution. The problem is that there's not any good nap to it. I'm sure you noticed that if you brush it, it just frays the carpet. It's just junk, plain and simple. I guess my only "trick" is to avoid it or educate the customer on it and make sure their expectations on that part of the detail aren't very high.

    Again, great work!

    Thanks Mike.

Definitly not easy to work with, the carpet that is.

Any tried and true solutions? Even dry brushing barely helped.

    No,

but I dont blast the engine with a pressure washer like I have seen others do.

A light stream of water is usually good enough, followed by an application of APC and a soapy water agitation with various brushes, then I lightly rinse all soap away and dry the main areas with a big cotton towel. Then I start the vehicle and let it run for 7-10 minutes.

After the vehicle is washed and dried I spray the engine with Hyperdressing at 2:1 and wipe it down with a cotton towel soaked in Hyperdressing, wipe all painted areas down with M135. I then go over any small crevices with a paintbrush that may have any dirt remnants in them. Sometimes I spray the underhood pad with Hot Shine Tire Foam as well. I have a bunch of other little steps as well.

    Works great for me,

I am doing fifteen basic details for a local doctor's office, just a one step cleaner wax on the exterior and the interior detailed. It would have cost a lot more in the long run to pay $30 per car for the engine done, plus I only have a certain amount of time.

I think you have seen engine pics in some of my writeups though....

    2008 Cadillac Escalade

    2008 Chrysler Town & Country

    2004 Mercedes Benz E320 - Complete Detail

    2001 Volvo S80 - Engine,interior,and exterior cleanup
